Good morning!
My name is Giovanni Castelli, and I'm the man behind Feroeg.
I work for SIO , an Italian company specialized in security. My task is focused on develop and maintain its proprietary software.
Two years ago (ending of 2019) I found on Internet an interesting project about Geospatial Data Processing - the Gaia-SINS Project
and a very intresting library part of it: libspatialite developed by an Italian, as me.
I tried by myself to test the libraries, and I loved it. One reason is that they are very light and simple to use. Another reason is the name behind the project: Gaia.
Coincidentally Gaia is the same name as the application I developed for many years: SIO Gaia-Client, a Windows application to display, to analyze, and to track in real time a fleet of vehicles.
So, returning to us, I decided to use the spatialite libraries to starting to develop a reverse geocoding engine using my free time, and my own laptop.
Now (October 2021) the project matured to a degree that I decided to present it to the public, for professional use.
So if you or your company works with GPS data and has the need to present it in a 'human readable' form, like transform a coordinate pair in an address, please consider using my reverse geocoding engine service - FEROEG.
You can test it and integrate in your application without cost from us.
At the moment no registration is required, and if you did not abuse the service, no restrictions will be applied.
You can use it also commercially, but we require you to credit and notify us of your appliance.
You shall show an attribution message ("Reverse geocoding powered by www.feroeg.com") like the same you see in the Demo page to the end user.
Then is also required to notify us by mail a brief description of your service, or software application, that uses the Feroeg service, and a screenshot of the attribution message.
After that you will receive by us a response, I think surely positive if the above rules are respected, about the permission to use the service commercially.
For other solutions, like setup private servers, or for any other reason please leave us a message.
We also have a blog.
